Geocaching at the Kirkland Waterfront

We knew this one was small... so we looked...

and looked...

Nope! Not there...

After a good long time... like a half hour... we were ready to throw in the towel... pack it up... forget it... and then.... LiLly2121 found her first Geocache!!!!  Yay for her!!!

Forbes Cache

Off on another hunt...

Look what we found on the way...

Spyder Cacher Dude found this one!  He found his first ever Equator Geocoin which needs to leave Washington.

Vile Vial

This cache has a little mystery that included a Mission: Impossible with agents and the vile being hidden in a vault for a period of time.  Very mysterious.
Jr. Spyder Cacher was not to be fooled and found the secret vile.

Taking a break at the nearby park.

Geocaching in Kirkland

This was a perfect location for us to go on this beautiful warm and sunny day!

This was our friend's first time out Geocaching and took right to it.

The cache was found.

MA found his first cache!  Right on!

The whole family!

Honey Jar

This cache was located at Juanita Beach, and area we haven't made it to before.  I love that about Caching... learning of new places in our back yard...

Jr. Spyder Cacher found this one.

Anxiety Free Bridge

It was recommended that we count the boards on the bridge to help get us closer to the bridge.

We were assured this was a troll free bridge.

After the kids looked and looked, Spyder Cacher found this one.

Kirk at Work

This cache was in the town of Chelan.

Pink Spyder Cacher found this one.

Here is a little information on the location:

St. Andrew's parish is a wonderful historic log church building.
Episcopal services have continued without interruption in the log church since 1898. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the church building is a place of interest for the vast array of visitors to the area.
The carillon and bell tower of St. Andrew's are part of the fabric of the community as the hours are marked and bells ring out with spiritual music daily.

Lake Park 2

The GPS was acting up a bit and sending us this way...

and then that way...

Eventually Pink Spyder Cacher found it.  The we played....

Lakeview

This cache had a beautiful lake view and was hidden amongst the sage brush.

Silly Spyder Cacher found this one.

Looking through the items in the cache.

The last two still looking through and examining certain items to trade.

Logging her cache

I like Big Buttes

The cacher who placed this cache wrote:  The Chelan Butte is a prominent landmark in this part of the valley. From the cache location on the north side of the lake, you can watch the seasons change on the side of the hill. You can see the snow line march its way down in the fall until the whole butte is covered in white. Then in spring the snow line moves back up the hillside, to be replaced by the green of spring and early summer, then the brown of the height of summer, before the green slowly returns, and the snow line appears once more.
You can see the butte quite well (a 'butte'-iful view) from here and you can catch some breathtaking views of the lake itself from this "High Point."

When our trip began Spyder Cacher's GPS (Betty) glitched and we weren't able to use it.  He was able to load all the trip and cache information to Blonde Spyder Cacher's GPS (Wilma) which saved our trip.  However, since Blonde Spyder Cacher doesn't use her GPS to the same capacity as he, she didn't know there was an option to "turn off" dirt roads on the GPS, hence Wilma took us up this steep dirt road.

We were wondering if the "no trespassing" signs just meant the orchards since they were set at the corner of the orchards by a tree, or if indeed it meant "no trespassing" on this road.  When we arrived at the paved road we were suppose to be on, everything became clear.

A view from the paved road a little closer to the cache location.
Look at that house and heli-pad!

Little bit of a uphill climb to this one...

Jr. Spyder Cacher found this one.

Welcome to Manson

This one had a pretty view of the lake.  The community was named for Manson F. Backus, president of the Lake Chelan Land Company.

Pink Spyder Cacher found this one.

Where it all Began

This cache was on the property at The Chelan Winery.  Apparently this building was originally an "apple packing shed" and according to the cacher who placed this cache was "where it all began" here in Chelan.

This was a great place to hide the cache.

Silly Spyder Cacher found this one.  This is her first Geocoin.  For a close up look at it you can go to Zoping/Geocaching

Wing Attack Plan

This cache was across the way from "This Old House"

The pine needles were so thick in some areas that I sunk a little bit.  What a huge tree.
